And there is a team which I think is the strongest. I want to make a drama of better quality with the director. [Shen Donghui, Director of Photography] These several words of Lost in the Kunlun Mountains really touched me. [Lin Nan, Director] It made me have the desire to shoot a drama for it.
[Hardship] We shot the drama from Spring to Autumn, from plains to plateaus, from using the cool wind of the air-conditioner on site to warm wind of the air-conditioner on site. The temperature inside the studio could be as high as over 60°C.
I sweated a lot and it would affect the shooting, so I kept wiping the sweat. [Ding Yunqi, played by Xu Kai] After I wiped it, I sweated again. There was no need to put on make-up. [Sun Sanxuan played by Meng A’sai] It was impossible to put on make-up.
My whole body was soaked in sweat. We emphasized reality. [Li Jianlong, Action Director] Falling to the ground should show a sense of gravity. Each scene was filmed with a careful attitude. There were over 30 nights when we had to shoot the drama under heavy rain and high wind.
